catch up...
~I start school Tuesday, and both my girls go back tomorrow. Anna is going FULL TIME THIS QUARTER!

But it won't allow me to rest because I have a lot I need to accomplish by the end of the month. I actually lightened my load with school a bit so I could concentrate on finding a job. The only interesting classes I'm taking this quarter are Web Design II (Flash) and Web Authoring. Other than that I'm taking a MATH class (EEEK), Pilates and Yoga.

~I have to take some antibiotics for 7 days and I CAN'T DRINK while I'm taking them. Normally I might try and see how I do with it, but both my Doc and my Pharm told me not to, and that I'd get really sick. T likey her drinky!! And the OSU v LSU game is tomorrow!!

RIP jagerbomber... it was real.

~I had a decent NYE... it was pretty uneventful because I had just driven home from Sheila's that day. A friend of mine needed a partner in crime and convinced me to go to the Nasty Nati with her. I wasn't excited about driving on NYE, and decided to be the sober one. I'm such a wonderful friend!!

So ya, that was a blast. Everyone got home safe tho, that's what matters... right?

~I'm pluggin along in my bet w zooks. Last week I weighed (new years day) and I had lost 6lbs making a total weight loss for me of 53lbs. FIFTY THREE. That's insane. And my lawd I was so enormous I still have weight to lose!!! HOLLA!

The best part about our bet is it really did keep me in line for the holidays. I didn't have thoughts like "OH, It's Christmas, go ahead and eat 10 pieces of fudge", not that I really wanted to, but I didn't have the thoughts either.

Here's my updated pic:

May 28th 2007 Oct 24th 2007 Jan 6th 2008

And ya, I know I look like death warmed over but:

A) I hate those before and after pics where they look all unhappy and crappy in the before, then all smiley w make up on in the after... so I'm tryin to keep it real here.

B) You're not supposed to be lookin' at my face (and not those either... Jeff)

This one is just for my girls, they thought it was hilarious...

don't blame me, i just live here...
I've been meaning to post for well over a week, and well, here we go...

School:

I can't believe the end of the quarter is already rearing its ugly head.

Art is kickin' my arse again. Drawing more than one thing in the same composition is harder than drawing just one, who knew. I was actually so frustrated yesterday, I left class an hour early to prevent my head from exploding.

Printing class is da bomb. I designed a pokerslut tshirt to make for my screen printing project. I should be able to start my strike offs next week. w00t. It'll look a little something like this:

The front
The back - Ive actually changed this a bit since the screenshot for obv reasons. positioning/redability etc.I was going for the early 90's rock tour look, obv. There's a sleeve shot too, but well, you'll have to wait for the real thing to see that.

Dreamweaver - oh dreamweaver - feed me to the wolves would ya? My hands on midterm made my blood begin to boil, but I got an A on the written part. I need to get started on my final project, which is designing an entire website (OMG) I should get hrbek to do it for me. I decided to make an online portfolio, since that would be killing two birds with one piece of stonage.

Yoga is fabulous, I forgot how much I enjoy doing yoga and how much it helps my back. Although, last week my instructor started giving instructions on a pose and when he got to "once you feel the pull in your leg, start to work your heel to the back of your head...." he received an evil eye from the T. Just sayin.

And last but not least...

Design Survey is a BS class they make us take. I was dreading it. It is one of those 2.5 hour BS classes that make you want to pull your hair out, lots of busy work etc. But my instructor RAWKS. We haven't had a class last over an hour yet, AND he has taken HALF the work out of the class, including a paper and tests. And, AND none of our work is actually due till the end of the quarter. GG Jack. Only thing is, he jabbers on and on and on and on quite often. I didn't know dudes had so much to say. Right now he is having us design a logo for a made up automotive company. My company is called KADUB. sfobv.

The Skinny

Well so far I've lost about 34lbs and I'm happy about it. The last time I weighed, the scale actually said i had put 3 lbs back on, but I'm not buying it. It was late in the day and I've been training for a 5 mile run on Thanksgiving. The new jeans I bought that are two sizes smaller than before are getting a bit loose already too, so I've lost interest in the number. I feel great, which is the best part and I've been sticking with it.

Exercise had been getting a bit boring after the whole prop bet thing to make it entertaining, so I decided to really challenge myself to do the Turkey Trot. I don't know if I will be able to jog 5mi by then, but it's fun trying!

Hey SCOTT are you still gonna do this with me or what playa?!

So anyhoo, last night I was talking to someone about this pic I saw of myself on my brother's picasa page that was the catalyst for the decision to lose weight. It made me wanna puke. the convo went a lil something like this:

me: omg u should see the pics i saw of myself that made me realize i had to lose weight. not that i would ever show them to you, but still
person: show me
me: no fraking way
person: come on
me: gfy
person: you could be like the person in the commercial that holds up the big pants
me: still not gonna

Well, here's the pic, right next to a pic of me in the same shorts that Anna was so kind to take of me this morning.

Might wanna turn your sound down - the first one MOOOOOOO's

Life

Big changes going down in T-Ville. They aren't quite bloggable as of yet, but I'll get to it when I can. Good changes tho.

Zooks was in town this past weekend. It was pretty sweet having her here, cause well, I like zooks.

Pictures were taken, obv, if interested.

Lots of kid stuff, and poker on Saturday night at Ritze's (smboatdrinks) house, which was a blast. My bro even came with us, and had Zooks cracking up in the car the whole way home, sfobv. To top it off, I'm going to HER house THIS weekend! When it rains it pours... w0000t.

All is well in kidville too. Maya had PT conferences last week and straight As on her report card (standard) and Miss Anna made this kick ass dinosaur out of construction paper at daycare yesterday. Altho, (spell check says altho should be alt ho - lolorz) today she felt the need to make another construction paper creation, and made a Mermaid with a gun. NOICE.

So that's all the tidbits for now, carry on.

Fat Tuesday...

I'm glad it was Fat Tuesday yesterday. That way I don't look so bad for staying up late drinking and playing poker. Well, I wasn't really playing poker, I was watching someone (no not zerbet) play poker - how cool am I? Cause you know I donked out early when I hit top pair and bet the pot, and was called by 2nd pair 9s who hit a K on the turn for two pair. I HEART I say, HEART!

But I'm still not bitter... see?

So while I was watching someone (no not zerbet) take down 1st in one turney then 2nd in another (gg's, not zerbet) I decided to have a few drinks cause if ya didn't know:

Whiskey = Poker Therapy in a Bottle

Now you know, and knowing is half the battle dude.

And since it was Fat Tuesday yesterday, I don't feel guilty for waking up and not wanting to get out of bed, even though one of the spawns is running a fever with glassy eyes and comatose in the recliner right now. Cause only good mom's stay up too late drinking and (almost) gambling.

But anyhow, the blog neglecting is somewhat purposeful. All I have to talk about is boring ol school work (which I'm NOT totally stressed out with btw, totally NOT!) This quarter is almost over though 3 or 4 more weeks or something like that, and for now I still have both eyes. I even registered for next quarter yesterday! It's gonna be a full plate:

Digital Imaging (aka photoshop)
Digital Illustration (aka illustrator)
Digital Animation (not really sure, flash maybe?)
Design 3D (make carp outta foam core)

I'll be all digitized at the end tho pry.

i'd like a ruling on that...
So, I drove to ILL this weekend for Sheila's birthday. She was helping to organize a Super Bowl Poker Tournament for a guy who owns a restaurant/bar that has one every year. There are a lot of details I don't have the time to get into now, but what you need to know is that I came in 2nd to a guy who was so drunk, he couldn't put his own chips in the pot. That's right, he had a helper. I made $410 dollaz, $250 of which I've already spent on a plane ticket to VEGAS on JUNE 7th. Jealous?

I will, despite my time constraints right now, tell you the story that goes along with the title of my post.

I can handle major douchebaggery in poker. In fact, I prefer if I'm at a table of DB's. I play a patient game and can usually take advantage of the DB's. Two seats to my left, we have the table douche. He will call any all-in, despite his chip stack, with any two suited cards... or any face card for that matter.

I saw him call an all-in on a board of AJ9 with J6 off suit, to a guy that raised pre-flop. The raiser/all-inner had AQ and my DB friend hit a 6 on the river. The all-in call left him with one chip.

Or you could ask my good friend Zerbet who pushed all in with ATo and was called by DB's 67c. I folded AJs this hand and the board read AJJxx. Zerb won the pot and doubled up. NH z.

Anyhow back to the story. An utg raiser decides to throw in a raise with the blinds at 200/400 and he makes it 1000 to go. The DB says, "Hey you can't do that, your raise has to be at least double the big blind". Myself and a few others at the table, but mainly me (let's face it I have a big mouth), chimed in telling him that the total of his raise had to be at least 2x the bb not the raise itself. The DB was unhappy that a WOMAN was telling him he was wrong and said "I'd like to get a ruling on that". So I holler across the room to Sheila explaining the situation and she agrees that I am right.

"Happy douchebag?"

Might sound like a silly thing, but I swear EVERY live table I sit at there is at least ONE middle aged man that can't stand the fact that a woman is sitting at the table with them. They pick on how I stack my chips and place my bets. Tell me when it's my blind or turn.

And to all you old dumb asses that don't understand the fact that women are smarter than you (even younger ones) I say:

STFU

another weekend gone...
POKER:

I had a full plate this weekend and wasn't planing on playing any poker but I rushed and got my cleaning lady duties done early Saturday morning so I could play in the AIPS II NLHE tournament at noon. I ended up finishing 2nd, one place short of the mighty AIPS Banana trophy. C'est la vie. I did, however, recieve a cool $94 for my efforts. I'll take it, especially with how I have been running lately, cold cards and handing out my money.

Here is the hand history from the last hand. I could've played it much differently. I had no reason to put all my chips in, I wasn't short. But the person I was playing against likes to chase and after the check/call on the flop and a check from him on the turn I was just wanting him to fold. I really didn't put him on any kind of Ace.

PROJECTS:

I had a positive/negative project to do this weekend for my Design 2D class. We had to pick an image for our rockstar, mine being the great Jon Bon Jovi of course. I ended up with a guitar a) because it was easy b) because it was easy. I am not very talented when it comes to hand drawing anything, so I had to pick something I could trace. This weekend I had to hand ink the images, which was torture. My hand isn't too steady, but it is done.

Next I had to do two typographical grids. The first being an elemental grid, 7x7 square, 1" grid.

When I finished this I had to do a creative grid, not easy when you are practically blind from the previous two projects. I had a hard time coming up with something but ended up going with... you guessed it... EASY!

So that's it. 48 hours and another weekend gone. I have to say the projects are already getting easier, and I think I'm actually learning something despite my stubborness. Go figger.

damn the man...
That title works in plural as well... damn the men! But vv/e that's another post...

This post has a purpose, to get all the non-poker players that read my blog to click this link and join. Ahh yes, you are asking "WHAT? WHY?". And as always I shall give you answers.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

As to the "what?" it is the PPA- Poker Players Alliance. Since that pry just confuses you more, here is what the PPA does:
The Poker Players Alliance is a nonprofit membership organization comprised of poker players and enthusiasts from around the United States who have joined together to speak with one voice to promote the game, ensure its integrity, and, most importantly, to protect poker players' rights.

So why does that involve you if you don't play poker? Well, what do you play? How would you like the government telling you that you can't play the game you enjoy in your own home? What if you pay for a subscription to pogo.com where you can play games like canasta, bridge and cribbage and win real money in a lottery type drawing, and because the government banned banks sending your monthly payment to "GAMING SITES" you can't play anymore? So, if you are a fan of your personal rights and choices, I'd say join.

A friend of mine wrote a letter to Bill Frist, one of the authors of a recent earmark on a the Security Port Act that was signed into law at the end of last year. The earmark made it illegal for banks to do transactions with "gambling" sites. Altho it had a carve out for lotteries and horse betting, it did NOT have a carve out for poker. Here's what Frist had to say in his reply:
I have heard from many concerned citizens regarding passage of the
Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. While I understand the
conerns of the numerous individuals that participate in on-line gaming,
the bottom line is simple: Internet gambling is illegal. Gambling is a
serious addiction that undermines the family, dashes dreams, and frays the
fabric of society. Congress had grappled with this issue for 10 years,
and during that time the on-line gaming industry has exploded. Although
it is impossible to monitor every on-line gambler or regulate offshore
gambling, steps can be taken to police the financial institutions that
disregard our laws.

That's right, it is crumbling the very fabric of our society! Not greed, or consumption, not ignorance BUT FUCKING POKER! Our private citizens don't have the capacity to decide what to spend their disposable income on, so we will decide for them.

I realize poker is hardly the most important issue in this country right now, but the fact of the matter is when we start letting our government make laws about our passtimes, it's only going downhill from there.

pokerslut tour bounty quagmire...
Ok all, I need your unbiased opinions.

The Pokerslut Tour was mentioned on the Ante UP! podcast this week. The reason being , one of the hosts, Offdeadline, played in our Pokerslut Tour PLO tournament this past Saturday. I offered a bounty on his head that is followed:

Poker Slut Tour

Private tournament on Full Tilt Poker

This week is $5 Pot Limit Omaha Hi

Sundays at 9 pm EST

Password is imapokerslut

There will be a bounty this week on Offdeadline, host of anteup! poker podcast. That's right, if you bust Offdeadline you'll get a $5 bounty*! (and it's not hard to do!!) Also, visit the leaderboard if you get a chance, it is updated weekly.

Hope to see you all there!

*bounty paid by khanwoman and will be transfered to your Full Tilt Poker account.

In turn, Offdeadline proceeded to win the tournament. He stated (or whined) in the podcast this week that he should have recieved the bounty on his head since he didn't bust. My opinion may be somewhat skewed since I am the one paying the bounty. But the bounty did clearly state that it goes to any person who busts him, and this did not happen.

Your thoughts?

old ladies need love too...
I've always loved doing yard work. I get it from my mom, she got into gardening when I was a teenager. But nowadays it just makes me feel old, cause the next day I can hardly walk. Of course with my yard it's never "finished" so then not only do I hurt but I have to gumption up the will power to do more the next day.

My motovation for today is that I can't try to convince Joe we need to buy about 5 yards of mulch (and hire someone to lay it) until I get my 200+ bulbs in the ground. So, how bad do I really want that mulch before spring?? That is the million dollar question. I guess we will see.

We watched the "Wizard of Oz" yesterday, twice, right in a row thanks to Anna. Girl knows good movieage when she sees it.

Maya is online right now chatting with Barbie on Barbie.com. I wonder if Barbie is a 45 yr old man. Paranoid.

I won all in or fold last night, thanks to Lillian for splitting with me once we got to HU!! I <3 Lilly. I needed the little br boost.

Pokerslut Tour is tonight, it's Limit HE so should be fun and last to all kinds of ungodly hours for a Sunday night, don't miss it!! Password is imapokerslut and it's played on Full Tilt Poker.

I have some great pics of the 3 girls I need to get to work on, maybe tomorrow.

friday says what?
The girls have khanned me into (LOL I said Khanned!) making French Toast and Bacon for breakfast, but I have to finish my blogging first, you know, priorities n all. They are out of school today because of Parent Teacher conferences, but that's old news.

We are off to the pumpkin patch this afternoon with Harper, then dinner at my sisters (moms making home made chicken n dumplins mmmmm) and then Maya and I are off to a Harvest Party at her school. Anna is supposed to stay with Auntie Bette tonight, altho she may have come to her senses by now about that. But I hope she hasn't.

I meant to register for a HORSE mtt last night, and registered for a $5 NLHE donkfest instead... I actually ended up getting 17th or something like that. I was getting close to 10x or less and this guy to my right kept pushing in with his HUGE stack. I never had anything to call him with, and he did it so frequently he couldn't have a hand every time. So, I called w ATo and he just happened to have AJo, and no miracle for me that time.

Then I played PLO8 in the AIPS event. I was so lost. I love omaha 8, but it is amazing to me how the betting makes such a difference in how the game is played. It was very hard for me. I had a decent stack when I made a bad call. Well, it may not have been that bad. But here is the background. I was CARD DEAD and every time I got a decent hand I would get raised and re raised. So, finally I decided "oh eff it" and made the call and I lost. But I was tired of not getting hands, and when I did get a hand people keep raising so you have to play a flop for half or all your stack. It's redonkulous. I hate that game. But, I was able to give Sly most of my chips, so that was a plus.

Full Tilt Poker Game #1122998871: AIPS EVENT #7 (6593235), Table 2 - 150/300 - Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo - 22:47:56 ET - 2006/10/19

Then two hands later I just put my chips in with an awful hand cause I didn't have the will to play anymore. And some jackass starts saying how awful my hand was. Ya know people, sometimes people have reasons for playing awful hands and you should really just STFU and PLAY YOUR OWN CARDS. There's nothing worse than a nosy poker player. Specially ones named WileCoyote. Ya thats right I named names, he`s the luckbox that never played Stud8 and ended up in second. Kinda like the 9Gaiter guy last night that couldn't lose a hand in o8, he pry won the whole thing. But I'm not bitter. These AIPS events are turning into AIOF events... it's not playing poker, just throw your chips in and get lucky.

It does make me realize how great our forum events are. Best playin by far.

"Triplejack Poker takes online poker to a new level. Not only is it Free to play, but Triplejack has great new interactive features not found anywhere else. Where else can you throw a pie at a player for beating you in a hand? Or an egg, or a bomb! Triplejack's interactive features make playing poker even more fun. Best of all Triplejack gives away all kinds of great prizes, even cash, and you can't lose. Triplejack is not a gambling site so there is no way to lose money. And you guys think payperpost is useless... tsk tsk.

knock on wood...
I have been quiet about poker this week because I didn't want to jinx myself. Monday, when I found out about Joe's bad news I withdrew my poker bankroll. It only added up to about $100, and I left a few odd dollars in my account. There was a forum tournament later that night and an insistent forumer insisted I play and sent me the money to play in it (even tho I resisted). I don't like to borrow poker money for lots of reasons, which would pry be for another post.

Anyhoo, I won that tournament + a $10 bounty giving me an instant $50 bankroll! er well $44.50 cause I sent the original buy in back to the generous effer. Since then I have monied in all but one tournament I've played this week! Which took me up to $113!

I think that is just amazing. After months of losing, I withdraw all my money and win. I just don't get it. So, I went back over everything to see what I was doing different.

  1. I played two HORSE mtt's. I had never made it a habit to play in these mtts. I play sngs all the time but not mtts. I made it deep in both, to the final table in one, and even tho they weren't big cashes they did help out.
  2. I didn't play ANY ring. Ring games are of the devil. Oh wait I did play ring ONCE and I lost TEN DOLLARS playing Razz.. thx to zooks. Maybe she is the devil.
  3. I didn't play any NLHE sngs.
  4. I had a poker epiphany, which will be explained below.
Anyone who plays low stakes poker online will understand the following scenario:
  • You buy into a tournament, get seated, and start to notice that every hand that is shown down is some piece of garbage like K4 sooted, where they won with top pair, even though there was a flush and a straight on the board. AND to top it off, they got called down by middle pair! So, you try to adjust playing your hands like QT, QJ, KT, TJ etc etc. But when you play these hands you're still getting beat! Their hands like K4 are hitting their 3 outers, flushes or 4 card straights.
I found myself in this scenario playing a $4 185 person sng on PokerStars. As usual, I was frustrated and down to about 400 chips when I thought to myself, "Man those people are idiots! If I could just hit a big hand in a pot with (identified specific people that would pay me off) I'd be golden". So, I did just that.
  • I identified the people I wanted to play pots with, the 4 people at the table that would pay me off with top pair or middle pair.
  • I specifically targeted playing one gappers and two gappers against these opponets.
  • I wanted to stay away from hands like TJ or QJ or KT - to get this to pay off I had to hit a non suspecting hand where THEY held the K or Q and I had the nuts.
So, here is an example:

PokerStars Game #6532003314: Tournament #33170378, $4.00+$0.40 Hold'em No Limit - Level III (25/50) - 2006/10/05 - 19:48:30 (ET)

Anyhow, I didn't win this tournament, I ended up losing a race with my 99 and busting out. I`m sure this small pot poker against the donkeys is nothing new, but it finally clicked with me and helped me deal with my table symantics at the time.

Give it a try!

sick and tired...
Are you as sick and tired as I am of our government trying to legislate morality?? How ironic.

Did you know that Senator Bill Frist added legislation to a Port Security Bill this week outlawing online Poker?! Yes, a Port Security Bill. Frist has THAT many friends. Friends that think this will get them re-elected.

To make it worse, they say it is to outlaw online gambling, cause you know we don`t know any better. But the legislation does NOT include betting on Horse Races. I bet Frist owns a horse.

If you`re as tired of this as I am, click this link and sign the petition.

To: All Members of the Congress and Senate

We would like to register our strong disagreement with and disapproval of the recently enacted bill regarding the prohibition and/or regulation of internet gambling. The bill was originally introduced in the House of Representatives by Representative Goodlatte and was attached to "must pass" legislation in the Senate by Senator Frist.

We strongly believe that the government should not attempt to prohibit online gambling by adults. We favor legalization, regulation and taxation of online gambling by the government of the United States.

Sincerely,

The Undersigned

poker? i hardly even know her!
So I deposited on Poker Stars this weekend. After all, I did win my WSOP seat there, I should pry donate to the pool at some point. One good thing for anyone that has been thinking of depositing there, they are running a 100% sign up bouns up to $50. And after googling a bit it seems that Poker Stars doesn`t usually do this. So, from the first of September to December 31st you can get this. The promo code is FirstSep2006, and it is also listed on their website.

Anyhow the hubabaloo was that there were super soft HORSE and RAZZ games on the site, since these are new to the site and people aren`t exactly sure how to play them. Well, I tried RAZZ first, and was among my poker peers. Very few fish. But I`m told this was a freak accident. So, I`ll try again at some point and let you know.

The HORSE ring however I found to be VERY soft. The first table I sat at I was sitting with "felicialee" who is also a poker blogger/player. Of course I wasn`t totally sure it was her, anyone could have used that nick, but when I hovered over her nick for location info it said, "No chat, sorry" so I am assuming it really was her. I ran her and everyone else at this table over by simply playing premo starting hands. It was very different since there was no blind pressure.

They also have $3 sngs as opposed to the $1 sngs on FTP. But unlike the FTP sngs I have yet to win one. I did come in 3rd in a HOSE last night that I entered on accident and thought I was sure to get pummeled in since I usually accumulate chips during the RAZZ round. One thing of note tho, these $3 sngs are ALL TURBO. Ya, HORSE turbo style.. quite interesting.

One last thing... this site has A HELLALOT of Omaha 8 tables. WOW starting at ONE CENT TWO CENT. I had no idea. They are always full and always running. I`ve been sitting at .10/.20 tables with $4 and doubling it up no problem. I`ll keep moving up as I go, and get used to the software.

All this being said, I`m still losing on this site. It is because of the sngs I`ve played and not monied in. I am down about $20 from my initial deposit. So, I do well at sngs on FTP and better in ring on PS, this could be a happy relationship!

So, last week I had a great poker week...

This week, not so much.

Oh and the Interpoker bonus thing.. it is really hard.. I don`t suggest it.

I` m tired, I`m mad and I hate money.

One good thing, I googled "bite me" and this is what I got. People are freaks. Who knew.

Gnite.
