It is rare I "go serious" on my blog, although I'm sure you are all aware of my political beliefs and that I am passionate about many serious issues. Every once in a great while though, I become annoyed by something that will continue to poke at my brain till I let it out, so here goes.

It started Monday when I was lounging at my pool with two of my girlfriends, both of whom have not grown out of their "I went to church when I was a kid so I'm a Republican" stage. It is amusing to me when they bring up politics. I've tried in the past to share my views and beliefs, but it didn't take long for me to realize it was a waste of breath and effort and decided to use such times as comedy relief instead of sharing my wealth of knowledge (yes, I'm being sarchasmic).

I've learned to ask questions instead of give facts, this way my amusement is fulfilled, they feel they've "told me how it is" and it's all put to rest with a quickness. Monday I asked "...but really, what has Obama done to piss you off anyhow? I mean, other than being born black..." Their answer? The man didn't salute when the national anthem was played and of course ANY AMERICAN that speaks badly about the President OR his policies is unpatriotic and has no business holding any type of public office.

Country First, bitches.

Yesterday I received an email that I promptly deleted - as I did not want to puke on my keyboard at work. It was some type of right wing spam telling people how LIVID they should be because Obama repainted his plane - removing the American flag off of the tail wing and replacing it with his campaign logo.

I had the person re-send it to me so I could share - take a close look if you're into that sort of thing. I think the "Obama lover" reference is especially racis... I mean retro dontchathink?




This is what kills me - our country is wallowing in debt, poverty, crime, racism, violence, war, drugs, inadequate education, bankruptcy, unemployment, death of the middle class, OIL prices - just to name a few - and the only thing on the minds of some people is what Obama painted on the ass of his plane.

To those people I say:

I'm buying my burka today, a green one to accent my eyes, cause when we have our first Muslim president in January, he's probably going to make us wear it anyhow. You know me, always ahead of the game!!
