The Good, The Bad and The Ugly...
Thursday

The Good: NO ZOO! I was dreading that with no allergy meds

The Bad: Big storm that night and as usual, when I hear a loud crack that sounds like lightning, its a tree falling instead. Its a shame actually, it was a beautiful old Oak Tree and now it will have to be butchered a bit to get it to look normal again.

.

The Ugly: We have to clean that up.

Friday

The Good: I get to take my allergy meds today! Joe came home early and helped me clean the house, my house was spotless, thats always a good feeling. Dave even came over and ordered pizza for dinner while we cleaned and helped watch the girls. Purdy good stuff.

The Bad: The devil shows up today.

The Ugly: Allergy testing isnt pretty. 51 needle pricks on my back to let 51 allergens seep into my flesh just to see what Im allergic to. 10 minutes of pure hell, just to see what "pops" up. I dunno bout you, but "pops" is an awful nice word for this...its totally gross, b ut I thought Id share anyhow so you can suffer with me.

Saturday

The Good: When I woke up I sat out on the deck for a bit with my coffee and laptop. It was so quiet and cool out. Birthday party for the girls. I love my little hooligans. Kim and Chris and the kids came, which was nice cause it had been awhile since Id seen them. The family came over we grilled out, had cake and ice cream, built a bonfire and made smores. Life is good.

The Bad: My sister couldnt make it to the party, damn work. It got HOT as hell outside. But I guess thats what happens when the devil is in town. I went out to take pics of the tree that went down and what do I find when I walk around to the back of it? Thats right, another tree down.

The Ugly: Shopping trip with the devil to Sams Club. I find out she isnt leaving till Tuesday.

Sunday

The Good: I got to sleep in till 8:30! AND I took a nap. Sleep is so good.

The Bad: I couldnt sleep that night, well I feel asleep, but awoke at 3am and couldnt get back to sleep. Tis why I am blogging now.

The Ugly : Dinner at a buffet with in laws. It is pretty funny, after all when they want to take us out for dinner and they suggest Perkins. Yet when we go to Minnesota and offer to take them out for dinner we end up at a steak house. We did however make a step up from our first dining out experience with them (which was Lees Famous Recipie, a fried chicken chain similar to KFC) and we went to the Golden Corral, the Buffet of champions.

Only one more day. I have some great pics of the girls Ill have to post later and a video that Im trying to figure out how to size down without using Nero so I can fit it on the host site. Its 11,000 KB too big.

I`ll take the guilt free with a cherry on top plz...
It`s pouring outside, it will be all day, Maya`s trip to zoo CANCELLED! I havent had news that good since I heard "We have medication for that Mrs. White". Now to get Mother in law to not show up...

Not much to say, so I am going to do a Friday random Ten on Thursday. Im tired of my house cleaning/grocery shopping/kid chasing escapades, so you should be too.

Shuffle up and press play!

1. Aaliyah - One in a Million - First time I have listed to this song to be honest (other than on MUSAC). It was part of an entire transfer from a younger friend trying to "hip" me up.

2. Metallica - So What - Worst song Metallica ever sang. So f**king what.

3. Incubus - Just a phase - Great song, love the songs that have music intros, and great music at that. "Call it womens intution, but I think Im on to something here".

4. Guns N Roses - Its so easy - When everybodys tryin to please me babay. Nuff said.

5. Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb - OMG somebody get me some weed plz.

6. Foo Fighters - Hey, Johnny Park! - I just got this album and me likey.

7. The Doors - Angels and Sailors - Pry my fav Doors song.

8. Nickelback - Follow you Home - Nothing as good as a good psycho song.

9. Lenny Kravitz - Black Girl - Lenny can sing to me any day, call me what you will Lenny.

10. Green Day - Whatshername - By far one of the MOST talented groups out there.

OK this is gonna be tough...

Favorite song - Ill have to go with GnR ITS SO EASY. Too many good memories from those days not to love it.

Least favorite - Aaliyah

Best Album - Tough one between GnR and GreenDay IMO.

ONE MORE THING

So I was driving home from my sisters the other day and saw this bumper sticker on the back of a Nissan 350 Z. And if the sticker wasnt strange enough, it was even more perplexing the owner of this vehicle sticking something to the paint.
And Ill admit, I didnt get it. So I googled it and I still didnt get it. So I asked Zerbert, the king of strange facts. So, now I get it. But it wasnt an entirely lost cause... while googling I found some real gems. And, because I like you, Im gonna share.

Birthday fun...

The important stuff...
Today, May 22nd is my babys birthday. My Anna turns 3 years old today. She usually doesnt wake up till 8am or so, but this morning around 6:30 I heard her and Maya giggling from the bedroom so I got out of bed, "Maya why did you wake her up??" "Because I had to tell her its her birthday!".

So after lots of morning birthday lovin and some breakfast I decided to let Maya stay home for the day so we can do some fun stuff for Anna. Then I was bribed into letting her open a present. Im so easy.

Happy Birthday Anna Mae
My sweet little girl who always has the perfect off color remark to embarrass Mommy in public, and I love her for it. With her strong will and tendency to go against the flow, she will be a force to reckon with one day - Anna for President!!

A slow downward spiral into oblivion...
How did my WSOP tournamnents go you ask??

First one was scheduled for Saturday at 1pm on Jungle Poker. This is a new poker site that was having its "Grand Opening" on Saturday. For the past few weeks they have been running an "Earn your bankroll" promotion and running freerolls to get traffice to their site. In addition to the money you could win in these freerolls, they were also offering a "ticket" into this WSOP event if you were to make the money in one of the freerolls. I did and I registered. When 1pm came around I was logged into the site, and as the tournament was about to start the site crashed. I waited around for two hours seeing if It would open back up or if I would get an email as to the status. I had a bracelet race at 5pm on FTP so I decided to go get a nap in. As soon as I laid down an email was sent that it was starting at 4pm, so I missed it. What BS.

Second one, I had a good nap, cause I slept till 6:21pm and it started at 5pm. I JUMPED out of bed and saw I had been blinded down to 390 chips. GREAT. I worked so hard on getting that token and I over sleep. Go figure. But I double up, and I double up again, and again! This is when I know Im doomed. You cant get that lucky that many times and have any hands hold up at the FT. But I figured why wait till the final table? And did this.....

I am an idiot.

Sunday, I decide to use my other token and play in a NLHE bracelet race at 9pm. This was a total fiasco. I was getting ran over by my table. You know when nothing goes your way, every time you raise you get re raised, your hands never hit, youre constantly having to lay a hand down cause its early and not worth battling with a donk. So finally THIS happens, but it was fitting given the circumstances....

I shoulda known to push that flop, but went for the check raise instead.

And my week continues...

Today I get the pleasure of going off my allergy meds because I am going to the allergist with Anna on Friday. Oh joy. To make matters worse, Im going to the ZOO with Mayas class on Thursday, that should be interesting... zoo animals with no allergy meds.

THEN to top it all off, Friday the mother in law from hell arrives. I must of done something horribly wrong in a former life. And if you think your Mother in law is bad, I bet I can top it. Stories to come, stay tuned!!

My Week...

It has been raining for over a week here and to my amazement we havent had any flooding. Although I am starting to become accustomed to the sky suddenly turning black and thunder coming from outta nowhere, yesterday we had huge hail come down. The hail and rain went on for over 15 minutes so the pic I have the hail has already melted quite a bit. And today is no exception, another dark and gloomy day. The bad part is our new dog doesnt like to go potty when its wet outside. So I can take him out for a walk and he wont go. I leave him out on Buddys trolley and he whines at the door, then inevitably if I let him in I have crap on my carpet 5 minutes later. Its pretty damn annoying. But it has given me the opportunity to scrub all the spots out of the rug, I mean since Im already down there I may as well make the most of it right?

In my family we call May our birthday month. May 16th is my Dads and my brother in laws, May 17th is mine and May 22nd is Annas with Mayas on June 5th shortly after. So Wednesday I turned 29, another day another dolla. Wouldnt it ROCK if birthdays were as fun as they were when we were kids?? Not to say they cant be, cause next year for my big ole 30th Im going to Vegas damn it! I did make out pretty well this year tho, Photoshop CS from the husband, Photoshop for Dummies book and wireless optical mouse for laptop from girls, UNOs for dinner and an AWESOME birthday cake from Cold Stone Creamery. I cant complain (well actually I can and I did, but Im over that now). Tonight we are going to J Alexander`s to celebrate all of the birthdays together. Should be fun.

Monday I had to pick up Maya from school because they had their yearly physicals at 3:30 and the bus wouldnt get her home in time. As I headed out to pick her up I realized my 1gig SD card had come for my camera!! WooHooo! So I grabbed it and headed out. While I sat in the car waiting for her to get out of school I was testing out the zoom on my camera, check this out!

The first is with no zoom and the second is at full zoom... I zoomed in on the building in the center.

Their doctor is about 1/2 a mile from my sisters house so we had made plans to come over after and see her new house that they are building. I hadnt been inside yet or even seen the model so I was excited to see it! The thing was HUGE, well to me anyhow, Im used to my tiny little house! I mean the hallway up stairs was big enough for my girls to run in (picture right) and you know what that means, if its big enough to run in, ya gotta run! They ran upstairs, downstairs and in between. Altho it made my sis a bit nervous because the painters had been in doing touchups that day. Im pretty sure they are closing today and moving in next week. Im headed over to her house with my sewing machine today to help her make some curtains for the morning room. I just hope she doesnt want help painting one day.

Ok what else.... POKER! I actually won two tokens this week, can you believe it? I guess my bad token streak is over. Im playing in two WSOP turneys on Saturday. A bracelet race on FTP and a main event seat freeroll I earned a ticket to on JunglePoker.com. We will see how it goes. I havent been doing that great in the bigger tournaments lately, but a girl can dream!

So thats my week in a nutshell. I have a wacky crazy weekend this week, so Im not sure Ill be able to write more till Monday, which is my Annas birthday! She will be 3, already.

Happy Mothers Day...
I try not to have high expectations on Mothers Day. It has been forgotten twice in my house, so I find if I dont expect too much I can save myself from sliding into a hole of depression and maybe even come out of the day surprised.

I planned on sleeping in today. My mom took my kids last night cause we are going over there for a BBQ at noon, so its easy to sleep in with no kids. But I forgot to take my ZyrtecD pill last night before bed, and boy was I paying for it this AM. I have awful allergies, the kind that get so bad you cant really function. I turn into some type of swollen, snorting snarfalump youd see in a Dr. Seuss book.

I put on a sweater and my yard clogs so that I can take the dog out to potty. Its freezing and wet outside and the snot in my head instantly begins to harden so I cant see straight. I get about halfway down the yard with the dog and I hear Joe yell out "Honey go back to bed, Ill walk the dog". Well thats good to know, where were you 15 minutes ago??? Rub it in why dont ya.

But now I get breakfast in bed. Well, kinda. We pulled out the sleeper sofa last night to watch a movie and some episodes of Deadwood the first season. We do that alot with the kids when we watch movies that way we can all cuddle up and get comfy. Its still out, and Im gonna eat on it.

But most importantly Im going to my moms later. My mom rules. Shes gonna give me a pedicure and a back rub and I LOVE MY MOM. I dont know what Id do without her. Shes the one person in my life I know I can count on no matter what, shes my best friend and she still takes care of me when I need it the most.

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

I was up a little early this morning and thought it a good time to write in the blog, as I stared at the blank screen I heard the clicking of Anna`s bedroom door.

Anna just woke up and ran out of her room, I hear her coming in the room behind me "Good morning Mommy" "Get over here and give me some lovin little sweetie" she runs around the couch and hops up next to me. I went to bed early last night and I see she was put to bed in the same clothes she wore yesterday, a cute little sundress. I asked "Did you Daddy put you to sleep in your dress?" Anna says "Daddy said it could be my night dress". She cuddles in a little closer to me, "Get up and make my breakfast Mommy". I love morning conversations with Anna, she can only be sweet for so long.

I went to the doctor yesterday. It had been awhile (well except for knee doc but thats different) since Id been in for a physical. We were without insurance last year when Joe switched jobs so I missed last year. The nurse gets me out of the waiting room and heads straight for the scale. I ask if I have to, and she said yes, you have to. As I took off my shoes (ya like thats gonna help any) I notice its one of those digital scales with the read out right in front of your face. I think to myself, "Just close your eyes, dont look at what it says". I step up on the scale, and I shoulda closed my eyes. I think yesterday can go on the books under top ten worst days. It went down hill from there.

So, I dont know if you all watch this show, but I never miss it and here is one of the reasons why.

I love my DVR. hmmm big ass, DVR...... I pry should of went for the home gym rather than the home theatre. Pry.

BLAH BLAH BLAH
So we go to Pepitos last night, and I was highly disappointed. I mean I expected them to be busier than usual. Usually we are one of maybe 3-5 tables full on a Friday night around 6pm. But when we got there we couldnt even find a parking spot. The place was packed. It took over 30mins to get our drinks, our food didnt come out right, and the real shame... I only got ONE margarita. I never had a chance to order another from the waitress. It was hard enough to make sure everyone was getting their food. Total letdown. BUT I will say, we still had a good time. Everyone came, Dave, Bette, Scott, Mom, Dad, so the girls had a ball. Then Bette and Scott came back to the house after and hung out for a bit.

My sis is almost 6 mos pregnant, and Im more excited than she is. They are building a house that is just about done, so she has alot of non baby stuff on her plate. In the meantime Im busy purging all the baby stuff from my house so I get more excited every day. Thursday I went over to their house and dropped about 5 bags full of clothes alone. They were shocked and thats not even the half of it!!

Anyhow, the dog is still working out great. Maya has been taking him out in the mornings for his potty break. He is getting along with everyone and seems to like it here. He likes the couch even better, but he will learn, we dont do dogs on the furniture. Not to mention, Dachshunds arent supposed to be jumping. I guess it can cause back problems later in life. I went and bought him a bed yesterday to help with the couch problem, and some toys to keep him from thinking our shoes were his toys. He got the picture. Joe still hasnt warmed up to him, he calls him a "snake with legs". Joe isnt fond of small dogs!

Its a lil after 8am now, and Im debating whether or not to make a big breakfast before we go do the yard work. The yard needs mowed (its been two weeks and a shitload of rain) the weeds need pulled and I may start trimming back the honeysuckle. So, should we eat now or have a big lunch after???? By the time we are through, Ill pry be laid out so maybe I should make it now.

I played two tier 1s on ftp last night. I wanted a token into the ladies wsop event tonight. I went out 18th in the first when my AA was cracked and 9th in the 2nd when I pushed with KJ utg cause I had 1800 chips and the blinds were 200/400. The 2nd one was torture because I just wasnt getting anything to work with. My curse of FTP continues.

Ive had this itch to listen to the Violent Femmes, I donut know why. Im gonna have to get the CD burned into Itunes.

Cinco De Mayo...
A little somethin somethin for my beloved readers since Im not drunk (yet)
c/0 Wikipedia

Cinco de Mayo is widely celebrated by Mexican-Americans and their descendants in the United States and Canada. Many cities with significant Mexican and Chicano populations throughout the US schedule special events on the 5th of May. In Los Angeles, most notably, revelers fill the streets in front of City Hall for speeches and performances by Mexican entertainers on this day.

Although the celebration of this holiday has historically been limited to Latin-American communities, particularly in the southwest, it has become increasingly popular across the US and Canada, and among all ethnic groups in the last 10 years. In recent years, it has been celebrated widely and in a similar style as St. Patrick’s Day — namely a celebration and identification with Mexicans, their culture, food, and music by Anglos and other unrelated ethnic groups. However, many Americans and Canadians have only a cursory understanding of the significance of this day; it is often mistakenly assumed to be Mexico’s independence day, and in practice, it is usually celebrated on a superficial level.

Alas....I never want you to be mistaken OR have a cursory understanding, especially when so many brain cells may be lost today, you may know now what you are losing them for...

In 1862, in response to Mexico's refusal to pay off its debt, Britain, Spain and France sent troops to Mexico; they arrived in January of 1862. The new democratically-elected government of President Benito Juárez made agreements with the British and the Spanish, who promptly recalled their armies, but the French stayed, thus beginning the period of the French intervention in Mexico. Emperor Napoleon III wanted to secure French dominance in the former Spanish colony, including installing one of his relatives, Archduke Maximilian of Austria, as ruler of Mexico.

Confident of a quick victory, 6,500 French soldiers marched on to Mexico City to seize the capital before the Mexicans could muster a viable defense. Along their march, the French already encountered stiff resistance before Zaragoza struck out to intercept the invaders.

The battle between the French and Mexican armies occurred on May 5 when Zaragoza's ill-equipped militia of 4,500 men encountered the better-armed French force. However, Zaragoza's small and nimble cavalry units were able to prevent French dragoons from taking the field and overwhelming the Mexican infantry. With the dragoons removed from the main attack, the Mexicans routed the remaining French soldiers with a combination of their tenacity, inhospitable terrain, and a stampede of cattle set off by local peasants. The invasion was stopped and crushed.

Zaragoza won the battle but lost the war. The French Emperor, upon learning of the failed invasion, immediately dispatched another force, this time numbering 30,000 soldiers. By 1864, they succeeded in defeating the Mexican army and occupying Mexico City. Archduke Maximillian became Emperor of Mexico.

Maximilian's rule was short-lived. Mexican rebels opposed to his rule resisted, seeking the aid of the United States. Once the American Civil War was over, the U.S. military began supplying Mexicans with weapons and ammunition, and by 1867, the rebels finally defeated the French and deposed their puppet Emperor. The Mexican people then reelected Juárez as president.

Goddamn french always causin wars and making us drink. So Im off for my superficial celebration this evening, and we all know that that means....frozen or on the rocks???

On the rocks.. of coz

I got a weeeeeeeeeeeiner dog!!
No, seriously I did

We had started looking in shelters over a year ago. But the smaller dogs go fast there and I never found one that was just right (ie: good with kids).

Today Anna and I were out running errands on the south side of town and driving by SISCA on our way home so I decided to stop in.

And lo and behold we found Carson Orbing. He had only been there since Tuesday. A family with two kids the same age as mine had dropped him off because they were making a move to CA and would be in so many transition stages they wouldnt be able to keep him.

Ive never had a pure bred dog before, but so far (about 5 hours in) he hasnt made a mess in the house and he has a great personality. Well other than the fact that his other family must of let him sit on the couch. No matter how many times I say DOWN!! and make him get off the couch he hops right back on. I dont mind him up there since hes so little, but Buddy isnt allowed so we cant do that.

So, after Anna and I found him I had to come home and wait for Maya and Joe so we could go back with Buddy and see if they got along. Its a rule at SISCA that everyone be in agreement cause so many dogs come back. Joe wanted a big dog again, but we have a big dog and I wanted a small dog so the girls could walk him. They make a great little pack, well other than Maya (ms bossy) making sure he poses right for the camera!

Even though Buddy is big, he likes smaller dogs. My parents and my brother have both had Pugs and buddy LOVED them. They are getting along good too...

I just dont get it...
I haven`t been winning at poker on FTP lately, we all know this.

But I get $20 free on Party Poker and turn it into $108 in about 3 days playing .50/1.00 FIXED O8 and two $6 Sngs.

Now some of this I can attribute to their O8 fixed games. They have a hell of alot more o8 fixed action than FTP and I did win two sngs.

But still, the premise is the same. And, Im a party poker h8r. So, I was thinking of keeping the original $20 there and keep playing o8 but decided against it cause I just cant stand the software.

But I still just dont get it.

I gotta figure this out, any suggestions?
